 Frequently asked Questions

Do I get what I see in the pictures?

I take my pictures outside in natural daylight to offer you a product picture which (I think) is as realistic as possible. Of course all PC's, tablets and phones have different displays with different resolutions and colours will vary.
I do not enhance colours.
In a few reviews customers commented, that the actual product looks prettier then the picture, which I take as a compliment.

How big are the beads?

The wrist in my pictures measures 6 Inches. You can find bead sizes in every product description.

If in doubt please take a ruler and compare the bead size to pieces you already own.

Bracelet size:

Every measurement ends at a defined point. Often I am able to meet this point, but sometimes because of the bead size there will be a small tolerance.

Adjustable bracelets are measured without the extender / slider clasp.

The slider clasp is longer than my extender chains, so I would recommend to choose a size on the smaller side here.

If you choose a gift I would recommend to choose an adjustable bracelet or a necklace.

What about Safety?

My jump rings are heavy duty but there are open. The reason for this is safety. Those rings will split under a certain amount of pressure (THIS IS NEVER ACHIEVED WITH NORMAL WEAR).

The steel wire I use is quite strong. If the extender gets trapped in something which could move (f.e. a car door) there is a risk of injury. Therefore the rings are open. They are the weakest link - they will only split when pulled with force. The string itself will stay intact.

Damage on those RINGS will not be covered by guarantee. The same applies to the rings which connect a string of beads and a slider clasp. Those rings can be easily repaired or replaced by your local jeweller. This is a very small service.

Where do you buy materials from?

All Sterling Silver is bought from UK sources. The Gemstones are sometimes bought abroad and I can only rely on information given by those suppliers.I prefer to work with trusted suppliers and I value trust over price.

Why 49 strand wire?

Steel wire is strong, but not very flexible.
There is 7 strand jewellery wire, 19 strand jewellery wire and 49 strand jewellery wire.
As more strands a wire has got as more flexible it will be.
49 strand wire is the most expensive wire with the most flexibility. It has got the strength of steel and the flexibility of thread. That's why I am using this wire.

What is gold / rose gold filled?

Gold filled jewellery is made by pressure bonding an actual layer of gold to another metal. Although a gold filled piece of jewellery is not solid gold, it has the same desirable properties and look of real gold.
It won’t tarnish and will not rub off or turn colours. Although the layer of gold in gold filled pieces varies depending on the manufacturer it is in all cases significantly thicker than regular gold plating. Gold filled accessories can be worn even daily without fear of fading or rubbing off and will last many years.

How do I care for my elastic bracelet?

Never put on your bracelet by stretching it over your hand (like making a triangle). Please roll it over your hand without excessive pulling.
Keep the bracelet away from soap, perfumes, hair and skin products, sunscreen, salt water, etc. A number of the products we use every day can degrade the quality of the elastic over time.
Elastic bracelets are finished with a triple knot. The knot will be secured with a professional glue, which dries clear and will not damage the cord.
